Some Browsers are Better than Others

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 6 and 7 both include openings for malware to do "drive-by" attacks. This means that your computer may become infected simply by visiting a website or opening an HTML email. The code has been published, and the hacks are likely to spread quickly.

The Basic Self-help List still includes:

  1. Buy, install and keep current virus protection software for every computer
  2. Delete without opening suspicious emails (like those from yourself or Oprah)
  3. Remember that any offers that look too good to be true are to be avoided

Those of you using MSIE 6 or 7 need to either upgrade or change browsers.

Free download of the popular Firefox browser is available at www.mozilla.com.

www.google.com/chrome offers a free download of Google's Chrome.

Firefox is a great browser that loads quickly, has high security, and rarely crashes, and the team at Mozilla is always working to provide a better browsing experience.

Google Chrome, though still in beta, is a quick and streamlined web browser with minimum clutter that allows you to run web apps and surf faster than ever.
